"Fables was great.
This is superfluous filler."
huh... you think its that much of a difference? i thought this held up pretty well compared to fables. i mean, there are some key differences but I thought the quality of songwriting was still there. idk.

It's not so much the band itself or even the songwriting, which I personally think is weaker overall, but the production here is atrocious. It's a meaty heavy sound, which is okay in and of itself, but it drowns the singer out, who himself doesn't vary his tone as much as he did on Fables. Mix in a thick sound, a decreased level of songwriting quality, and too much length, and all together for me it's just a poor effort.

ah okay. the production is a problem, but I'm hoping its being exaggerated by the stream quality. but, yea, those are fair points.

"The Wife, The Kids and The White Picket Fence" from Fables may be one of my favorite songs of all time.
The reviewer needs to fix the summary.

No, no he doesn't. Just because his opinion is different than yours doesn't mean he should change his summary.

That first sentence in the summary is not a sentence:
Beautiful, original and crushing, all at the same time.

Amarillo, Golden Parachutes, Coppertank Island, and The Greener Grass are my favorites right now. Too much bullshit at the end of Greener Grass though.

Every now and then a song like Rikki Tikki Tavi comes along and changes how the world thinks about music. Just give it time to sink in guys.
P.S. - Album rules and is still growing. Haters clearly can't comprehend banjo-prog.

I think we all need to remember how disastrous this release might have been. Dynamic band with good debut shooting for a wider audience usually = epic fail.
Just think, if dredg's subsequent albums were this good, we'd all still like them.
