hmmm well i like autopsy a lot youd have to have to try really hard to convince me any of napalm deaths stuff surpasses theirs especially when one spends most of their time with slow-mid tempos and the other grinds it out. their focus on the death metal genre is in two separate areas. the only comparison that can really be made is that they both use a death metal template as their base

Are we talking strictly death metal or just metal in general because Darker Handcraft by Trap Them was fucking awesome.

And hopefully the new Decapitated album will be good, the song they just released sounded sweet.

lol you people are crazy...plenty of good stuff this year

Benighted, Tombs, Negative Plane, Blut Aus Nord, Primordial, Ravencult, Scale the Summit, Hate Eternal, Argus, Nader Sadek, Origin, Aosoth, Pyrrhon, Valborg, Wormrot, Moonsorrow, De Magia Veterum, 40 watt Sun, Marduk, Devin Townsend, I could keep going...fuck even the Black Dahlia Murder's new one is pretty good.

Point is..if you only find 2 or 3 albums in a pretty good year for metal "worthy" of your superior musical tastes then you're probably too elitist for your own good.

I don't really hear it. I know it's only a step above using wikipedia as a genre argument, but even Metal-Archives has them and they still won't even put Rosetta on there. And they kicked Between the Buried and Me and Protest the Hero off for playing "a polyglot of genres."

I don't really hear it.

trap them is often mistaken for being metal because they abuse the fuck out of a down-tuned entombed guitar tone and have metallic guitar leads
