Great review. I agree completely about Anders' vocals. I think the reason I rated this higher is that the music is actually significantly better than their previous 3 albums or so.

I think Liberation could easily have been left off the album. Favourites are: New Dawn, The Puzzle, Darker Times and Enter Tragedy. The two other quieter tracks are pretty wtf. I mean...whats with the lyrics on Jester's Door?

The production on this feels weird, the guitar tone sounds way less crunchy than other albums. But this is better than the last album.

Really? I felt this album sounds a lot heavier in general compared to most of their albums, plus the bass is really clear for once.

I listened with better headphones, it actually is pretty heavy. And the bass totally stands out, which is great, didn't hear that before. Still, the vocals...

With harsh vocals in the vein of Come Clarity this album would be really fucking good.

I expected my fanboyishness to fade but it's actually growing...but perhaps it'll wear off in a few months. A New Dawn might well be their best song.

I'm a bit of and IF fanboy, but I seem to be in the minority of thinking they're albums are each better than the last. Except for ASOP, which was a bit of a dip. Fetching the album now. Good review - I only hope I like it more than you do.

Daniel should take over vocals. Listen to Sacrilege and his vocals on those two albums and compare them to Anders....

I don't understand why people are bashing this band, let alone this album. The first three songs are "meh", but it's great after that.

Their first albums, not matter how much they shaped the genre, I can't really stand. I personally love melody and catchy riffs, and don't mind synth, so maybe that's why I just love their more recent stuff.

Yeah, great, rate your own damn music and be a bit more objective. I'm not saying I'm objective but this is far from awful.
