hang on a fucking second Balthazar, Impresario isn't written in the first person...Frank's not allowed to do that.

I thought Knott's review was good, and then I wrote mine, and mine kick its ass

Yeah, the 3 bonus tracks are just as awesome as the rest of the album.

"I thought Knott's review was good, and then I wrote mine, and mine kick its ass" This better be sarcasm.

well it's not too hard to do
the staff review is brilliant, though

Half-sarcastic. I know it's my first review so I don't honestly think it's better than someone that's been doing it for years. But of course I like mine more since I wrote it.

My 2 biggest gripes with this review are:
1. I don't see the theme of "it doesn't matter where you come from, it matters where you go" throughout the whole album, especially considering all of the times that he references where he comes from. I think the song "I Still Believe" is far more related to the rest of the cd than "Peggy Sang the Blues"
2. I completely disagree with saying that "Glory Hallelujah" is not a song about God or atheism. It is completely about that, although I don't think it's said disrespectfully to religious people, it's still a plead for people to drop the idea of God because of all the problems that ideology creates.
But with that said, I understand everyone hears and interprets music differently, and I have a lot of respect for how you write.

Obviously the closer is on the surface about atheism, but its message is far more humanist than anything else, and all I was saying in the review is that it transcends that banner of 'atheist anthem lol' that a lot of people are bound to put over it.
See, I think 'I Still Believe' is at its core about legacy too, about the lasting effect of the roots of rock and roll and about the threads that run through to today from whatever that ethos and musical style used to be. I think every song on this album is in some way about the past's relationship with the present.

Well said and well defended, I just interpreted the album differently. It seems you looked deeper into it than I did.

Only gotten through "Peggy Sang the Blues" so far, but this is fantastic. The distorted guitars complement his sound really well.

So Frank was supposed to be playing at a local festival this weekend, and it's belatedly been cancelled...
...But he's organising a last minute show in the city instead. Didn't think I could possibly love the man more.

cause he is the best man in music

This is really good. It just really bothers me, there are a few songs that aren't as enjoyable
