I guess my view is, by changing her body to make herself more appealing to people (who wouldn't otherwise give a fuck), she's feeding into exactly the kind of intolerance towards "imperfection" and image-based judgmental attitudes that she hates with every lyric on this record. Personally, I don't give a shit if she got work done, I think she's much hotter now than ever before.



I see and agree partially with what you're getting at though, I just think she's pretty fake and uses her "monsters" as props for her career.



...but Fame Monster is fantastic and her singles are great (usually) so it's ok.

I'd normally agree if she wasn't a mega-huge star known for her looks/wardrobe/physical appearance and constantly in the public eye. But yeah, all of that.

Well obviously you think differently but I've always seen this "be yourself" business to be just that, be who and what you want to be. Don't limit yourself to popular limitations, hence the wacky and eclectic ensembles. So for me, I have no idea how a nose job could factor in against that message

Because she filed the hook back a little you came up with that? It's not like she got the op to somehow reach a broader spectrum of people, like some kind of perfect nose community. For all you know she got it done because she genuinely didn't like it, and last time I checked she's been preaching the whole 'do what makes you happy and be what you wanna be" schtick

And she could have done it to get hotter and be more appealing to a wider audience of people that don't care unless she's hot. Good thing the media and public don't care about looks in celebrities, right?
