For me, it's just that I'd rate each track individually a 4.5 so the whole release gets a 4.5. Not much more to it really.

I fail to see how 'NYC' would be a 4.5
I hope and hope like hell that if 'Street Halo' makes it onto the album that he'll finally give in and put 'Feral Witchchild' on it as well. I fuckin' love that tune

i love the title track its so organic feels like the heartbeat of some massive thing.

pretty sure the track naturally hisses and pops like a motherfucker so any added vinyl noise is gonna be negligible.

This is cool, but my mind aint blown by it.

Just wondering why you guys keep refering to him as dubstep? he's a low-fi electronic garage/two-step producer... i think the gorebore faggots pretty much took over that definition. Basically any producer that has any sort of merit or character stepped out of dubstep (lol pun)

Um....
You obviously have no idea what dubstep is then

isnt electronic garage/two-step pretty much what we call dubstep? just because "gorebore faggots" took the genre in a different direction doesn't mean that everything that used to be called dubstep needs a new name now. It's still dubstep, there's just a lot of different sounds within the genre. I think you'll find there are plenty of producers with merit still working within the genre, unless you're simply choosing to call good dubstep garage/two-step

yeah id prefer not to get into it but coming in here and saying something like "any producer that has any sort of merit or character stepped out of dubstep" is pretty crazy

Fuck it, I'll get into it simply because I know what I'm talking about
Seriously though, if I ever get staffed first thing I'm gonna do is blog the history of dubstep

take the a off electronica plz. or better yet split it up into genres that are actually reasonable like house dnb etc.
you could always make a list like sea did with the emo bible. though i suppose getting staffed sounds more appealing.

can we shut up with all the genre talk for a minute and talk about how perfect the title track is? something about how unaffected the vocal line, yet how distant it is is really enthralling. plus the bass sounds so fucking nice

def one of his best. its really cool for the first minute or so until everything exits out and it goes in a completely and even better direction. If the other tracks were on par this would be so much better. Not that they're bad.

i really liked the minimalism of "stolen dog", i agree nyc is the weak link here, though its still pleasant. his vocal samples and sounds are just too good

Man my favorite track was Stolen Dog...
