"Les Cinq Saisons" gets a lot of praise, but honestly for me this is just as good, if not a little better

Jamming this as I do French homework.
This band, and the Québec music scene in general make me want to learn Québécois French as opposed to Parisian French.

Haha yeah, well the rules are the same, it only differs in terms of accent and expressions, so you could actually do that :p

By the way, what other stuff in the Québec music scene do you dig?

I actually just ordered two books on québécois; one being a new dictionary that emphasises québécois vocabulary, and the
other being a book that's geared towards the lingustic end of the spectrum.
I'll have to learn the IPA to nail the accent.

Yeah, mainly québécois thrash and death metal bands, but if there are essentials from other genres, I'd love to check them
out.

Oh that's cool, I hope you like your reading, linguistics is a really interesting subject

I'm not really into the local metal scene, but from other genres I'd rec you these out if you want some

essential québécois albums :

Karkwa - Le Volume du Vent

Jean Leloup - Le Dôme

Les Colocs - Dehors Novembre

Maneige - Les Porches

Octobre - Chants dans la Nuit

This thing sells like crazy there. Probably the only place in the world that the big brands can't beat a local soda.
