it must not be as bad as the band themselves said it is their best and most emotional and melodic album to date...don't always judge an album based on its heavyness and brutality!!

Great album, on a par with the rest of their work. Slightly better than their previous album I think, not quite as good as Hidden Hands, but excellent in every way.

(Also, I don't rate Deliver Us. No idea why :/)

Hmm, this is the only DH I haven't heard. My interest in the band has faded, but i should check it out regardless. What album is it most similar to?

Love Darkest Hour, been a fan a long time. This album is good, but I have to say that Deliver Us' track "Full Imperial Collapse" is still my favourite song by these guys.

You're an idiot and you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Darkest Hour. The Eternal Return was not an example of Darkest Hour going downhill, it was their way of saying screw off to Victory Records and ending their contract. The quality of that album has nothing to do with Lonestar's incompetence as a guitarist, because if you knew anything about this band you would know that he was a great addition. If you ever talked to these incredible guys about the Human Romance, you would know that it means more than Deliver Us because it's a new start on a new record label that doesn't treat their artists like slaves. And furthermore, if you expect a band to put out their best album on a record label that is new to them, you are ignorant.

I believe Tosin Abasi performs the solo in Terra Solaris. Either way, it's a breathtaking solo and the song is one my favorite instrumentals ever.

Wow! I just wrote a long ass review for this album and the Internet fucked me!!!!!!!! what a waste of time. So to be short and sweet...3 out of 5. This album had a new flavor compared to the older Darkest Hour albums. But it still kicked ass. "The Human Romance".....just think about the title and the cover art as you listen. You get sucked into its world. Especially when listening to the piano in the intro, holy shit is that deep. Its like your dead and floating into the afterlife! I love Darkest Hour, and since their last album sucked, Im happy they didnt completely crash. John Henry's vocals display alot of emotion and pain in this album. And the music in general toned down a bit, but it all flows with albums name which made me finally think, "Huh, I get it now!" Plus you still get all the good stuff that your used to with Darkest Hour from previous albums. So, for any Darkest Hour fan that can put on this album with an open mind and acceptance to slight changes, Im sure youll end up enjoying it after a listen or two.

"The quality of that album has nothing to do with Lonestar's incompetence as a guitarist"

he didnt even write most of those riffs on the eternal return, their rhythm guitarist had to take over on writing duties after norris left.
