how many of the people that excitedly scrambled to download this today would be put off even listening to this if they read a review that marked out the likes of "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors" and "Backdrifts" as the closest antecedent for it?

wow, sputnikmusic, way to discredit yourself in a single day.... was it really that important to be the *first* site to review the album?

yep.

I was very surprised at a staff review within 12 hours of the release... but to Nick's credit, he has very inflexible opinions. so I guess that justifies the review? As for me... i'll let it grow

Backdrifts is pretty good song, but it's one where you need good headphones and a dark room to really enjoy it.

Sidenote. The bass line in separator reminds me of Beck's Chemtrails.

Wait, so you think hail to the thief and amnesiac are their weakest albums? One of those is my favorite radiohead album and the other is my 3rd favorite radiohead album. Yeah im gonna have to give this a 4.5, its really good. I think people who like those 2 albums will like this one a lot. I don't see how anyone could call those their weakest.

Currently have 7 mins left on the download, but to those making reviews right now, stop. It take time not plays to let music sink in, so cool it on the judgement, positive or negative, and just let the fermentation begin.

This is prooobably their third best album. Kid A, OK Computer, and this are still tied at 4s though.

The two 10" Vinyls that come with the Newspaper also raise an eyebrow. I realllllllllly think these are the B-sides to the album.
