Well, I can understand the reasoning for 'Winter'. Actually, now that I think about it, every time I have seen Bayside, they have never headlined... So no acoustic songs does make sense.
Yeah, some people are gonna need to give this album a chance, to get over any potential disappointment on 1st listen.

That makes sense then. I doubt they'll ever headline down under, although they probably could.

It really is 50-50 between this & 'Shudder' with people on here. Let's all just agree that they're both really good.

the debate is going on for almost 5 days!
shudder is really a meh album. I just cannot get into some of those songs. some are so bad, where I just turn the album off all together. Just the melody, the choruses that don't really go anywhere, the lyrics... I dont know... this album at least has that solid 1-4 that gets it going strong right off the bat.

The debate will probably continue for another 5 days too.
Here's my take: Shudder is better... just.

This = totally solid with On Love, On Life as a dubious throwaway song
Shudder = The worst, rage-inducing songs in Bayside's catalog + some meh + some of their best
I gotta give the nod to.......who cares I'm just gonna make a new Bayside mix with a few of these tracks anyway

In 4 hours time, I'm gonna be screaming "SICK, SICK, SICK" at the top of my lungs... Amongst other things like
You're not eighteen anymore.
Five years should have been enough time for you to grow up and get over this.
Not too cool to be throwing up all morning sick from what you might of done or done it with

I feel like I'm the only one who thinks TWW is their best release.
|

Album Rating: 3.5
No, there are a few who think the more experimental angle on that album make it the best.
Guys killed it live last night... AGAIN. The amazing thing about them live is that there is never a warm-up song as such where the mixing has to be adjusted or whatever. It's straight into it.

why is TWW an experimental? 3-12 on that thing are beastly. Sounds like a refined version of sirens & condol. imo

Album Rating: 3.5
I've always thought that some of the sounds, tempo-switches, etc... on TWW could be defined as experimental... & more experimental than what they had done previousy. Songs like the title track & They're not Horses... Even Choice Hops & Head On aplate push some of the boundaries of their music.

Album flat rocks....I think my only gripe at this point is a lack of witty and memorable lyrics.
