That said, I generally try to stay away from using too many cultural references in my reviews (I mention 2001 in this review but that's a fairly obvious comparison), because I know that as a reader I find it frustrating when there's a cultural reference in a review that I fail to understand...



But I will definitely get my hands on that book.

or, if you don't understand the cultural reference, you can just read the book or watch the movie, etc. haha

But I meant that, you don't even have to make it a reference, you can just explain it so that even someone without knowledge of the book would be able to understand your point, that's what I try to do at least.
