after nearly nine years, i accidentally came across this review that i wrote while i was still in junior high. to this day, it's still one of my favorite albums, and i decided to rewrite the review to do justice to such an iconic record (for me, personally). for those of you that said this review sucked, you are absolutely correct, and i hope this revision is better than my initial offering. and to those of you that offered your constructive criticism and support, thank you very much, and i hope this rewrite lives up to that support.

One of the only metalcore bands that learned to properly incorporate cleans and do them well as well. Such a good album

One of the most underrated metalcore albums of the last decade.
Travesty and Walk With A Crooked Spine are classics.

Thought I'd give this another go since it keeps popping up as "best" Haste the Day, and damn, the ABR worship is strong on this lol.

Gotta worship somethin, I guess. Why not both in this case?

I picked this album up for next to nothing in a rural Walmart back in 2012 while on a road trip with my then-girlfriend (now wife of six years) and absolutely LOVED it (see pg.2 of this thread). Somewhere in between 2013-2014 I would subsequently request a ratings wipe from Jom, lose the CD, have my itunes/PC crash, and forget the name of the band/album. All I could remember was the album cover and the melody from Dog Like Vultures, and it would proceed to drive me insane any time I craved awesome guitar-driven hardcore/metalcore. Once we moved out of our one bedroom apartment into our house in 2016 I'd all but given up on the idea of ever hearing this again. Yesterday, I found the CD used at a flea market with my wife in the middle of fucking nowhere. I recognized that album artwork and my heart leapt into my throat. I bought it and then proceeded to email myself the name of the band/album so I'd never lose it again. It's been almost a decade since I've listened to this and I'm so fucking excited to spin it again. I hope you enjoyed this story, and I'm currently accepting requests for the movie rights to Nobody Asked: Sowing's Story About That Metalcore Band.
