To be honest, everything The Chariot has put out has been consistently better than what Norma Jean has put out since "Bless the Martyr..." The creativity and ferocity obviously lies within Josh Scogin. The Chariot's first CD should be coupled with Botch and Converge's offerings as metalcore essentials.
I don't know how or why I don't own Long Live, though. I think I'll pick this up after work today (maybe even check out Illuminadio since everyone seems to think Chiodos has somehow made a change for the better).

If you don't like sparkly post hardcore you won't like Illuminadio.
I would never call anything Botch did before this (or this really) essential but it is really tight metalcore. This in particular.
