Shit.
Oli's vocals just keep getting worse. That shout gets really annoying after the 3rd song. We already had to endure it on SS but now its here for another album.
At least he would use the highs in SS, he hardly uses anything but that lame shout on this album.
"Alligator Blood" has so much potential to be really heavy but is ruined by the shitty vocals and stupid guitar playing (and what is with their tuning?), the drums are cool but.
This doesn't have the catchyness of SS, nor the good songs.
Too much oli ruins the show.
It's a shame because they are actually talented. I'm still waiting for them to release something that would shut me up. But they just can't get it together.

Their drummer sounds like he's only playing with one of his arms this entire album. Used to be actually decent....

Andcas, you really seem to want everyone to agree with you and like this album. Sorry, but it's still scene shit. I have dated girls who will think this is the best thing ever will no doubt have the lyrics written on every surface they can copy i down onto. The album is full of the one-liners that they all love.
The drummer is actually really good when he is given a chance to shine, and same goes for the guitarists. They can write things with melody and even pull of a cool solo (Tell Slater anyone?) every now and then.
But over time the weakest link has been Oli, his vocals continue to go down the shitter and his lyrics manage to stay the same scene BS lyrics every album.
he only song I have heard post CYB that sounds like it has feeling is "Suicide Season". The rest just sound they couldn't give a shit.
Oli's fascination with Slipknot and electronic music has really messed this band up.
Tuning to drop G/A or whatever the hell it is and writing the same shitty chuggy songs for 2 albums does not impress me.

Guys ready for a shocker?

I really like it.

ugh.

usually every song has a little tid-bit of a great shiny / sparkly moment, even anthem. the last

little bit, the riff is pretty goddamn catchy.

and yes before I get flamed for the 4, I am notorious for being generous. But I like it.

Meh.... Still don't like it.

Expect:

1. Me to conform and find myself enjoying this along with millions of other scene fags.

2. Never change my rating, probably write a counter review.

This CD does have a lot of "what the fuck was the point of this entire section" though.

Alligator blood sounds like anthem, which in turn sounds like A home like hole, which basically sounds

like Suicide Season respectively. But the little tid bits are what I find, and realize instead of

being a mindless drone who picks apart music I enjoy what I find, and the rest is just..there I guess?

Not saying everyone who likes this a scene fag, just that the band's core fan base are really emo teenagers. I cand find times where I enjoy this record and I can understand people enjoying it, they just manage to shoot themselves in the foot to much for me to call this even good.

It's true. You look at any hipster or scene kid, and they will like every alt, off the beaten path fucking record in existence...and bring me the horizon. And that makes them ghetto fuckin' metuhl. It's ridiculous.

With this comment Andycas, The love for BMTH on this site will slowly rise. Trust

on a side note, for nostalgia reasons. I may or may not be blasting Medusa. Fuck I loved this song.
