I would probably enjoy that, always dug Greg's writing.

I'm liking this album more and more. "The Day the Earth Stalled" and "Only Rain" are legitimately excellent songs. Still a bit front-loaded, and "Ad Hominem" is straight up embarrassing to listen to.
Not understanding all the hate for New Maps, I thought it was a solid, and at times stellar, release.
As far as Graffin's book, I'm about halfway through and I don't think anyone who isn't a huge Bad Religion fan would find it interesting. I mean, I am and I still think its pretty unexciting for the most part.

The Resist Stance I find is unquestionably one of the strongest songs on the record. Shit just slams hard compared to the 3YL version.

is it just me, or does the first song sound suspiciously like Sinister Rouge. I mean I'm fine with it sounding a bit similar, I mean it's the same band after all, but the chord progression and everything is just TOO similar.

well, they've been around for this long and are still going strong.... so I'll cut 'em a little slack. Great album

"Every other BR record = 100+
Huh?"
=>Lol
I've got TDOM but i didn't listen to it yet. I want to do it properly cos it's one of my fav bands and i'm still on 2 or 3 other albums (alter bridge, slipknot...).
"well, they've been around for this long and are still going strong"
=> yeah if u check on youtube there are videos of greg graffin at eighteen or twenty years old (lol, with all his hairs, handsome) and it's just amazing (there is an interview of him and another video in which BR sing we're gonna die...from our own arrogance !). He seems so young. Fu@@ing great band...

great album. good combination of all their styles. I think NMOH is too dark for me and bad production. So this is definitely an improvement. I'm a big New America/Recipe For Hate fan so this comes a lot closer to that than the three albums before this one.

Solid 3.5 for me now. Great but that last chunk is really not too special. Still think this is my best review though

i like this more than most people do. it's sort of the "the grey race" of their post-brett-rejoining years

I dig it too, Satty. I love that it's a bit more subdued, but it's still got those great super-fast punk rock songs ("The Day The Earth Stalled," "Meeting of the Minds," etc.). It's hard for me to describe their sound now. It's like that of a band who has settled into old age, knowing they can't put out the same old stuff. This was definitely a record for themselves.
They're back in the studio now. Can't wait for the new one!

An album certainly indicative of their age. One of my least favourites from BR tbh but not one that I dont appreciate.
Favourite tracks are Only Rain, Pride and the Pallor, Avalon and I Wont Say Anything.
