The original European import was with a label that considered the constatnt talk of death PA worthy. I don't know why.

HA HA, God I love reading the people that bad mouth HIM with the same insult like "they suck" or "they are poser singing about satan" God that is ignorance. Not one song in any of their five albums is about Satan.
They did name an album of theirs Greatest Lovesongs vol. 666, and they use a pentagram for their logo. They may not sing about satan, but they use it as a gimmick, which is about as stupid as actually being satanists.

HIM is pretty good as a band IMO. They just have a really stupid image that diverts many people.

Ya I've been listening to them more now and actually HIM isnt that bad. Plus their vocalist is good friends with Bam Margera and I pretty much worship Bam.

This is the only cd that I liked from this band. I have some good memories to this cd and thats the only reason i like it. I've never bothered listening to anything after this one. But probably 4 or 5 of these songs are good, although 2 much much better bands that play this style are Entwine and Lacrimas Profundere.

Why do only people who hate the band comment here? This band (and this CD in particular) is the best thing to happen to music. HIM is Love. Ville is perfection incarnate. Its so passionate and emotional and sometimes just plain rock and roll you can't help but fall in love with it. Join Me in Death is the best song ever period, the love, the tragedy. Eternal Love for HIM!

It's shit like this that makes it hard for outsiders to take this band seriously.

they do what they do pretty well - and better than most "good" traditional mainstream rock/metal bands. I think a lot of people hate on them for Bam bringing them a lot of US exposure.
However you slice it, they are solid, quality musicians that write catchier songs than other bands in their genre. Probably another reason for the hate - they are "pop-ier" than their counter-parts.

I've not heard this album yet, but I will say this: That is quite possibly the worst album cover I've ever seen. Definitely in the bottom 5 (along with I-Empire and most porngrind albums). Ville basically looks like a sinewy woman with no tits.
