Nah I was referring to Guitar and Shut Up 'n' Play Your Guitar
|
| |
Yeah, that's why I mentioned the other two, it's just that "your idea of "good Zappa" is him soloing outside of a song's context" sounded like you think I only like Zappa doing solos. I do, but he's more than that.

Out of context, his solos are pointless
how could you like that more than him actually being crazy and creative on this album :

"Out of context, his solos are pointless"
frigg off, Ricky
|
| |
They aren't pointless, his solos are more than good enough to stand on its own, specially when his band is doing a fantastic job as well. The guitar solo stuff is a showcase of Zappa's (and his band's) ability to improvise rather than his ability to compose, as it turns out, he was pretty good at both.

Ars, what do you think about Uncle Meat?
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
Uncle Meat is a solid 3.5 with the amazing King Kong Section, and a bunch of experiments, some that work out great, and others that fall flat on their face

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Okay, thanks.
