I like the tunes but im not overly fussed about the lyrics, so i cant really decide if i like this CD or not.

I hate the description pop-punk. It's either one or the other.
|
| |
Why is a cross between the two impossible? Doesn't blues-rock exist either?
I listened to this album all the way through. I Write Sins is alright. On the whole it's unspectacular, but certainly not worthy of all the hate it's getting.
A related note. The music magazine "Gaffa" (one of the most well-known music magazines in Denmark, it's free though, but this is still stupid) has just published an article on "emo-rock" in this months magazine, writing about bands like Panic! At the Disco, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Eh...

This got so much worse with my latest listen.

I really dislike this band. Are they manufactured?

I like them, a lot. I have to admit though, they're getting overplayed. I don't think they're good enough to have this much attention, but to each their own.

catchy doesn't also mean good. trust me, there have been plenty of songs that have gotten stuck in my head that are, well...
and i guess its a matter of taste, but im not totally into music that is shallow, superficial and "catchy and fun" like these whiny pop punk bands. i crave a little more depth, artistry, creativity and experimentation.

I don't get this at all. They had music recorded by themselves prior to getting signed so, uh, no. The rest of the album sounds very much in the essence of the demo they had prior to getting signed and even less mainstream once you reach the second half of the album so, uh, no.

Build god and then we will talk is the best song. At first I would have given this album 4. However I barely listen to it bar a couple of tracks.
