The bass is as strong as ever... up until this album that is. When I was a kid I thought these clicking sounds were made with drumsticks, lol

This is a criminally underrated album in their catalog. It's easily one of their strongest efforts, up there with their debut album. The album still has the "nu-metal" aggression of their previous efforts -- "Here to Stay," ""Embrace," "Thoughtless" -- but spends a majority of its time experimenting with a sound that can be described industrial goth. Korn slows things down on songs like "Hollow Life" and "No One's There" and succeed in subtlety and attention to atmosphere. Fans looking for an album in the vein of Korn's first 3 records will ultimately be disappointed, as most of these tracks are mid tempo mood burners that in total feel like one big song. Come in here with an open mind on at least 2 entirely uninterrupted listens and you will granted entry to an album that's a world into itself.
