I looooooooooove that song Em. And yes, all thanks to Willie.

I own all their albums except for Brown and Snuff the Punk. P.O.D. was the first "heavy" band I ever owned.

To the Shizit lovers. It's now time to check out two Rabbit Junk albums: This Life Is Where You Get Fucked and REframe.
ReFrame is more diverse and more aggressive, but also more raw. Life... isn't as aggressive but is probably the better written of the two (I'm partial to ReFrame.
Edit: oh yeah, to put it in context... Rabbit Junk is a different band from the same guy that does everything in Shizit.

I will add those to the list. Been trying to get into Industrial more lately.

To contribute in a non-Opeth-related manner:
This sounds like a pretty decent album, but I plan on getting the new Lair of the Minotaur album and maybe the Sky Eats Airplane EP first as far as getting new stuff. I can almost guarantee giving this a 3.5 rating based on the review.

Lair of the Minotaur? Similar to this style or just something random?

They're really cheesy thrash/sludge/doom from Chicago. I have a review of their last album up.

I just got this today and am really enjoying the sound this band produces. I am pleased to see heavy Amorphis influences done correctly.
Tales From The Thousand Lakes and Tuonela are two of my all time favorite Amorphis releases so it's nice to be taken back to that era with this bands debut.
Great stuff overall.

The only thing which I think is really disappointing are the clean vocals, they could have been so much better.

I personally didn't mind the clean vocals. I think they suited their purpose and were pulled off well enough

They definitely filled their role, but I agree that they could have been better and pushed this album forward so much more.

Perhaps we will see different vocals on their next release. Who knows, maybe the power of the vocals will have increased by then.

Probably not without a new vocalist. The guy has been doing these vocals in Swallow the Sun for multiple albums with no real substantial improvement, so there's no reason to expect any now.

Maybe his accent will be gone too.

I really enjoyed Swallow the Sun's records. The vocals never really bothered me so much as they would have for other people.

The funny thing is the clean vocals in Swallow The Sun are miles better, just listen to their cover of "Solitude" on The Morning Never Came. Where are those vocals?

Well considering that record was released before this one, the vocalist could have tired his voice out slightly due to all the stress on his throat from performing harsh vocals all these years.
That's just my thoughts however and I could be completely wrong.

Either way it would be nice to see some variance/improvement in both the clean vocals and the screams.

Theres not TOO much clean singing is there?
