I believe Alternative Press described this album when it came out as being "98% better than anything that's out there right now."

After I had first heard this album, I dunno if it was 98% better than anything that was out there, but I was pleasantly surprised as to how much I enjoyed it. It has lost its luster since it was released in 2004, but its still a solid album and it has some pretty catchy stuff.

As far as the arguments go about this album being popcore, post-hardcore, etc. I myself considered this "screamo." As much as I hate using that term, there's no other way to describe this band. Post-Hardcore is not fair b/c now they're up against bands such as Thursday and Thrice who don't play the same type of music nor do they share the same type of lyrical content. You would have to compare this album with other "screamo" albums that came out that year and one should be able to see that this album is pretty solid compared to other manufactured albums that were released that year riding the coattails of emo/screamo/pop punk/etc. (scene-core?).

For me, it's at the very least way better than Taking Back Sunday's 2nd full lenth, "Where you want to Be" and a lot better than Aiden's "Nightmare Anatomy" :D

IDK, Changing Of Times has a screamo-ish vibe to it.

The scathing attempts layered vocals

I would fix this, maybe say "The terrible attempts at layering the vocals..."

The same rings true for the tried riffs

Unfinished cliche. I think you mean "tried and true"

Good review otherwise. Band is terrible minus a few songs on Define the Great Line.
