Riteds Of Spring started emo and though I Hate Myself and other bands experimented with a more aggressive offshoot, Orchid is oftentimes given the credit of "founding screamo" because that's when the term originated. Saetia came after Orchid, and thus after those other bands that experimented with emo. Saetia is not overrated by any means, as the band accumulates as much hate as it does praise. I believe that they are one of the best screamo bands ever, and have been told otherwise as many times as I have said it. And calling saetia dumb? At least call a band like IHM dumb, they warrant that tag."

orchid came after saetia. screamos roots go back to the mid 90s with native nod, angel hair, heroin, antioch arrow etc
and i think embrace and rites of spring deserve dual credit for starting emo
