I'll be nice & say "anything under 3.5..."

Giving this a hopeful listen, it's been a while since anything post hardcore impressed me.
As for best album in the genre I'm nominating "What it is to Burn", and then I'm running for cover.

Maybe the definition of post-hardcore is different to different people. I'm sure some people feel Emery is pop or Alt-Rock. LOL.

""I was convinced that I wouldn't give an album a 5 this year, but this one has me seriously considering it." High 5 Mentalityofa. Haha. Get it... Get it."
I get it, I get it!
Yup.
Oh, and that's 900.

"Lol iTunes thinks this album is pop." Another reason to totally despise itunes.
"you think this is post-hardcore but fightstar's newest one isn't i'm confused davey" Guess what my #2 album of the year is Adam. Thanks for putting me on to that one btw. It's the grungy vocals that threw me with Fightstar. Simple as that. It really took me a while to get used to them.
"this is pretty accessible post-hardcore if you ask me" Undoubtedly accessible. It annoys me that some people see that as a negative though... I not only see it as a positive, but as an under-appreciated skill.
"not understanding the 4's and 4.5's.." As long as you can understand my 5. LOL.

Idk about this being souper accessible. It took me a really long time not to hate the harsh vocals.

The harsh vocals in the opener were the only ones I initially had trouble with. I guess because it was practically the 1st thing you hear it does tend to stand out.

Yeah. It was my first experience with Emery though. I think my first thoughts were "holy shit who just ran over the cat with a lawnmower?"

Haha... You should see the keyboardist/screamer live. It's like "who let Jesus loose & shouldn't he be walking on water, not the crowd"

Screaming is awesome live.

Emery are pretty entertaining live full stop. Just the switching of the lead singers through their set adds something a little different.

"why would you nominate the poorer finch album"
I so did not!
As for this album it's really good, not sure it's a 5. But if it keeps growing on me like it has in the last 12 hours I'll probably think it's a 5 by wednesday.

Hmmm...a 4.0 average rating, given a 5.0 by DaveyBoy along with a praising review...and yet not Staff-picked?

"Hmmm...a 4.0 average rating, given a 5.0 by DaveyBoy along with a praising review...and yet not Staff-picked?" I'm confused as to whether the staff pick option still even works. And you know I'm not the average staff... I'm here for the people! ;-)
"SI-REN!" (insert crashing drums & kick-a$$ riff here)
