This is good as a pop album, but the constant guitar wanking is annoying, this girl needs to be able to write a song without shredding solos every 30 seconds. Loved the instrumental though.

Yeah, some of the solos seem forced, but if you were a young female & could play 6 strings like that, you'd probably force them in too.



She was on Idol last week & you could just see the audience thinking "why can't the contestants play guitar like that".

She annoys me to no end for some reason.

Yeah I saw the Idol performance. When I first heard "According to You" it was on the local radio station that mostly only plays pop/hip-hop that I'm forced to hear, and I was amazed to hear shredding guitar solos on that station.

I'll cut her some slack since it's just the debut, but still, she could be quite the artist if she learns to control her playing.

ttb, your 2nd sentence there echoes what I wrote in my conclusion on the review. Sure, we may not be confident that she will take full advantage of her talent, but at this stage, it has to be taken into account.

And yeah, she could be something. This album is really catchy, I think I would have liked it better as a straight up pop album. She's trying too hard to be Kelly Clarkson and Van Halen at the same time.

Good point old man, I only listened to this because I knew she had some great guitar skills. Very glad I did.

Well, it would've been less likely I suppose, but I still liked her voice. I suppose you're right, maybe I wouldn't have listened to it.
