Powderfinger are Australia's BEST band!!! With maybe the exception of the living end they have been soooo far infront of the rest of the country...

i can't say they're the best in australia nowadays, but from the late nineties to early noughties you could argue their supremacy quite easily.

I know, I knew that when I wrote the comment.
And I stand by it too.
I cannot stand Young Modern and to me its a huge stepdown from their earlier works.

I would expect nothing less of you Mr. Young, and you have every right to your opinion, as do I.
I am curious to see what direction Silverchair take on their next album though, do you have any information on it?

All I know is that they're currently in the studio, I believe on the central coast.
They're my favourite Australian band of all time, though, and I won't hear a bad word against them in my fanboy rage :P

Just joined cause i saw this thread, this community seems excellent!
The only real online community I've ever visited much is Ultimate guitar - and those guys can be harsh.
Excellent review by the way, it's great to finally find some people who actually appreciate Powderfinger.

By the way, I dunno if it's been mentioned on here, but if you haven't heard the bonus disc on the deluxe version, I highly recommend giving it a listen - it's so impressive.
EDIT: Just read the list, where's the bands like Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs? Sure Thorpe was English, but I know for a fact a lot of the members of AC/DC were foreigners (might be all of them - not sure).
Am I missing something?

If you're referring to Australian Underground Part II then talk to David (Atavan) and ask him to put those on the next list.

Yes, you are missing something.
AC/DC are rather mediocre. Their last album was just plain bad too.

Thanks man, I hope to see you around these parts a little more.
