Personally, I find this album to probably be my favorite out of all the albums that have been put out now after listening to it a few times already. Very catchy, as well as the fact that it has some very good lyrical value as well. Definitely worth getting the CD.

Yeah, I feel bad that I haven't picked this up yet... definitely on my "to-do" list even though I splurged and bout 4 CD's last week, along with a $250 fine, I've become the brokest of broke college students.

This is their best album, there I said it.
As someone who just got into say anything in like the last few months I think I can say this without being blinded by nostalgia like some of you. IARB is an amazing album but there is no way it touches this. Its just way too repetitive.

Wrong. Come on, IARB is a work of art with intricate musicianship and creativity. This is just good catchy music with no subtlety, with a heavy focus on the hooks. Hey I'm with you on Saves the Day's Stay What You Are though.

This is MUCH better than In Defense of the Genre and about on par with ...Is A Real Boy for me

The way I'm digging this is like Eloise = Alive With The Glory Of Love - 20% Awesomesauce, and the rest of the album sorta runs in parallel to that formula.

Eloise, Do It Better, Ahh Men, and Cemetary are my favorites today.

"Wrong. Come on, IARB is a work of art with intricate musicianship and creativity. This is just good catchy music with no subtlety, with a heavy focus on the hooks. "
I dont know how you can criticize this album for "heavy focus on the hooks" and not hit IARB for it as well. Youre insane if you dont think IARB over used choruses. Dont get me wrong, IARB is an amazing, amazing album, and I think its very close, but I think this album is better over all. Its tighter, WAY more mature, doesnt over use choruses to the point of annoyance and features more emotion per song than IARB.

Its tied with Eloise for me. Both evoke completely opposite emotions but still manage to be amazing in their own way.

I don't see the overuse of chorus thing at all. And this is so much more juvenile than IARB. It's full of sarcastic lines and teenage metaphors and out of place spoken word tongue in cheek. IARB was more subtle, mature, cryptic, smart, creative, and overall mature sounding. Oh well, we could argue forever I just don't think it even comes close.

agree. well maybe you can argue that because this is so juvenile, it is more mature than a real boy.

not ready to slap a rating on it but, after about 1.5 listens, i feel like those kids who didn't like "daisy"
unhappy about it too, trust me.

This is one of the most pretentious things I've ever read.

think about it. When you're younger you try to act older, smarter, and more cryptic than you really are. But then when you get older, you realize that spending your life being that way isn't fun or meaningful, so you mature into immaturity. i guess.
look i'm not saying i agree with it. but you can argue it.

Acting childish is one thing. Purposeful writing awful poetry is another. I'd rather Bemis lost his talent than deliberately forsaken it.

I don't see a huge departure lyrically from IARB.
