This album is downright nasty. sometimes i used that in a good way...like describing really grungy Alice in Chains songs, Badmotor Finger by Soundgarden....im not so sure how i mean it on this album....its good...but really bad...lyrics sometimes scare me.

Hurt only gets better if you listen to the whole album before it, mainly because that way you get to hear the whole story.

This albums is vastly overrated. The concept is exceptionally good, as well as how he delivers the concept and how the story unfolds. But the music is mediocre. I can hardly listen to a single song straight out of this disc.

First off, incredible review. You hit it right on the dot. That part about him recording in the Charles Manson house.... i didn't know that before. It sent chills up my spine, having listened to the album extensively.

I love this album; probably the most depressing music i've ever heard.

My favorite song is "The Warm Place". Wow... just the haunting abyss-like melody gave me chills. It sums up the entire album.

Yeah, I love how it goes from Trent screaming "ME AND MY FUCKING GUN" to the really soft part in A Warm Place. Such an amazing album.
