I dunno man. Laziness is probably reason #1.

In life, there are winners (Phrase, Atavan et al.)
and there are losers (CK)

Hehe. You're a whacker.
"Whacker". Where the hell did that come from? Ahhh, been listening to Hilltop Hoods too much today. If Phrase isn't on the BDO bill, then the Hoods might be.

do any of you aussies know True Live? i haven't heard much good hip-hop from there besides that.

Theres plenty of good Aussie Hip Hop around, True Live look interesting. Oh and i'm tipping Horrorshow for BDO as well as Phrase.

Sobhi, gotta be honest with you man; True Live doesn't ring a bell. Might be a bit too underground for my liking. Alex & Atavanhalen are more likely to have heard of them/him. The Hilltop Hoods pretty much encapsulate most of Aussie hip-hop I guess. Out of curiosity, how difficult id it for you to get over the Aussie accent?
Horrorshow would be a chance for BDO as well, although more likely on the 3rd announcement, not the 2nd. I have to believe there will be a semi big Oz hip-hop act on the 2nd announcement next week. Hilltop, Bliss N Eso, The Herd or Phrase I'm thinking.

i listened to hilltop hoods a little and it didn't grab me, but i'll check it again... and since you've rated this so high, i might check it out too.
i dont mind different accents so much anymore... as long as they're lyrically strong. i didn't like UK hip-hop for the longest time, until i found some quality material outside of the grime subgenre that is.

The Herd would be awesome at BDO.

It's not grime you have to worry about here... This album by Phrase is really accessible... Maybe too accessible for yourself. I don't know what to compare him to without making Phrase sound awful. Ummm, Young MC!? Lyrically, it's very honest. Of course, some of the topics may seem foreign to you, because it's... foreign.
I know Jom loves Hiltop Hoods. Their best stuff is really good. And I know Alex likes the new Urthboy album, which I'm so-so on... Although, I like some of the musical ideas on it.

I'd reccomend Urthboy, Horrorshow and The Herd. Particularly the last two.

Australian hip-hop?
Gotta throw in Koolism, N-Fa, Brotha Black, Bliss N Eso, Killaqueenz, Astronomy Class and Drapht (as well as his crew, Downsyde).
True Live are tight. I love TV and Keep Myself Awake.

Eh, there's some great ideas on 'Spitshine' (especially musically) & I love the single with Nat Dunn, but I actually prefer the consistency of 'The Signal'... At least on initial listens anyway.
