noticed that a lot of people here are criticising mastodon for their new material and prefer their "leviathan" era.ok,forget the whole"they were more sludge" thing. the fact that crack the skye is the album of the year or it is in the top 10 of a variety of music magazines doesn't mean anything to u?when I first heard crack the skye I was sure that it was going to be the album of the year,it's PERFECT.now,about the blue record...It's also one of the top 10 albums of the year(and I think not just for me),so I'll give it a 4...the twin instrumental tracks(bullhead's psalm and bullhead's lament) are the best intro/outro I've listened in a really long time.Also,steel that sleeps the eye,swollen and halo,the sweetest curse and a horse called golgotha bring sludge to another level.In my opinion,along with kylesa's "static tensions" this is definitely the best sludge metal album of the year.
