The more I listen to this, the better it gets. Might bump to a 4.5 soon.

If Soundgarden decides to put out something new they should look at this album as the blueprint for a successful comeback

Another glaring omission of the Top 50 of '09 too

Seriously, this album couldn't have been better even if Layne was still alive...

I would like cut off a finger to hear Layne sing Private Hell, but you're right, they played incredibly to Duvall's talents.

I'd like to go as far as to say some of these songs wouldn't have been as good with Staley on vocals. The new AIC sound is very fit for the similar but more optimistic and especially less eerie vocals from DuVall.

I think their harmonies are almost as good if not just as good with Duvall on vocals. Would have been interesting to hear Layne on some of these songs though.

Great all around album. "Private Hell" in my opinion is best song on the album.

This reeks of early 90's sound, but there's something missing on here to push this to a 4 for me. I suppose I'm too attached to Staley's voice. This is still a great comeback for a group I didn't want to see reunite and expect to destroy a part of their craft, instead they've managed to come out on all cylinders.

Good stuff here. Sounds like their earlier works.
