i'd hardly qualify calling him an idiot as trying to be an internet tough guy but i get your point

It's disappointing that the bonus tracks "100 Words" and "Fainting Spells" are better than any of the actual songs on the album.

the cover art is really....gay
The same could be said about a lot of things concerning this band and their albums. Somehow this is pretty good though.

>let's see if Nitroadict can justify his one?
Short version: I have similar problems with it that I had with Decemberunderground.
For what it's worth, I liked "Torch Song". I'm not sure I like any other songs, though.
I might write up a review sometime tomorrow while there is still only one review up.

best songs on here are "Torch Song", "End Transmission", "Medicate", "Okay, I feel Better Now",
Nitroadict, im really excited to see you back up your one rating...that would mean that this album is worse than scarlett johansson's album, everything that chamillionaire has put out, and chiodos

I agree, AFI should know better than to release b-sides from the previous album as an entirely different album & making me waste time & hope in thinking they would make something different.
FYI, the score may go up slightly after more listens; I'm thinking a 1.5 or 2.5
Despite hating the songs, I do like the production on this album, just not what's being produced.
However, if & when I write the review, it will not be to appease The Crowd.
If music is truly subjective, then it should be scored accordingly. A few negative reviews aren't going to ruin party for everyone else.

Torch Song would be so much better if Davey finished the phrases in the verses with strength instead of adding those over-dramatic flourishes on the end.
Yoooooouuuu-UH
I know that's like one of his trademarks, but god damn.

Well, I love it. All of it. So glad I've bought this.

I have only been through it once. These are not the B-sides of DecemberU.....I respect their progression. Produced well. Anyone else think the 'Fainting Spells' wasnt on the DecemberU album because it followed the STS format?? I must be one of the rare persons who loved STS AND DecemberU........Davey now has his outlet for his electronica with Blaqk Audio....and delivers a good Rock CD. Love the Torch Song...// Not Disappointed, not Wowed either. But with extra listens....much changes...and I plan on giving them the benefit of the doubt.

after listening to "Fainting Spells", i think that song would have played a big impact on how i viewed Decemberunderground. It definitely would not fit in with Decemberunderground. It almost seems like they wrote it while on tour in support of STS, and then just carried it over to DU, because the only DU sounds on the song are towards the when the synth comes in, and that could easily have been added during DU recording...Im realling enjoying this song tho, its like a blast from the past

Excellent band, excellent album. "Torch Song" and "It Was Mine" are the standouts here. Badass single, too.

This album definitely grew on me. Some standout songs and some pretty weak songs, but all in all I'm liking it. Fainting Spells is awesome, too bad the rest of DU wasn't more like that song

I liked it... admittedly a lot better than I thought. Loved everything up to "Sing the Sorrow," and though it doesn't seem to make sense to some people, yup, I hated "Decemberunderground." And while the only return to form I see here is a return to simplicity, of sorts, I really think is a superb pop album.
Favorite song's probably "Beautiful Thieves."
