I was counting Exogenesis as three individual songs. MK Ultra and Unnatural Selection are great, along with the three parts of Exogenesis. I Belong To You, Resistance, and United States of Eurasia are very good. Guiding Light is just good. Undisclosed Desires and Uprising are poor and average respectively.



As for OoS, Bliss, New Born, Citizen Erased, and Space Dementia are great. Megalomania, Plug In Baby, and Micro Cuts are very good. Darkshines and Screenager are good. Hyper Music is just bad compared to Hyper Chondriac Music and Feeling Good is one of their worst songs ever.



They are close, the only thing that puts OoS over the top for people on this website is the addition of tons of guitar and distortion.



By the way, Muse has never had good lyrics. Matt has only written a few songs with good lyrics, everything else is quite simple and cheesy.



And Yes Please sucks. Glorious and Futurism are the best b-sides.

It is so stupid to rate an album with just hear it once or twice (i bet most of the ratings where given on this way), because many albums need to be heard a few times before someone give an opinion, buy is more stupid to make a review of it by hearing twice or maybe three times, so all that is said in this review doesn`t count at all.

So i expect that no one takes seriously what this review has to say.

great review, however, i think more listens would have made you change your mind maybe a little bit. it took me a lot of listens to truly get into this album. i wish a lot of the symphony wasn't so underwhelming.

Like I said before, Muse fanboys are the worst.



They're just as bad as regular fanboys in their ignorant, obnoxious nature, but they have the added disadvantage of thinking that because the band they're jerking off over are technically superb, especially for the mainstream, then there's no way they can do any wrong.

ah, my bad, thought you were targetting me. well, i agree, but not enough to let it truly piss me off or target them out. best examples i can think of are brand new and thrice... maybe converge. no matter what they release, i believe people will go out of their ways to try and enjoy and justify it as much as possible.

Second time around and this album is a fucking monster. The title track has to be one of their best ever.

The album sounds almost exactly like some of their older stuff every now and then, but to me it sounds more like a tribute than a rip-off since it is their own material. Maybe Matt was making lyrical connections in the related songs.

i'm sure i'll stop looking at this in such a retarded way at some point. album is a 4, may bump to a 4.5... i think it's bloddy brilliant!

I was put off by the similarities at first but I realized that the Citizen Erased hook in Resistance is way too similar for them to have not realized it. I doubt they've become that lazy.
