3.5 is 'great' on this site but it's more like 'quite good'

not much difference but still

just the rating system is kinda retarded on this site and overrates each number past like 2.5

w/e

I think that at Soundwave they rocked it up way too much... More kids there, so they really had to appeal to them. No 'Fin' and only one of the slower songs from memory.

As for 'Adelaide', they will always play that in Oz because of the city.

Right, yeah. But scorpion - the song is just repetative and boring. The entire point of it is to be catchy, but it completely lacks a hook.

idk...the opening is pretty hooky, i would say. and the chorus is super catchy. but yeah it's not the album's best.

You're like my better half Tom. She loves 'Cities' & Anberlin, but hates 'Adelaide'.

The chorus isn't even slightly catchy.

Yeah, basically. Good album (not great, but I don't mean 3) but that song sucks hard. Their softer tracks are generally their best, apart from the odd rocker that just WORKS.

But still, their pit was fun.

also dj: yeah actually you're right about the overrating now that i think about it.

think about it in the context of a concert though Captain: it's basically the perfect sing-a-long chorus. i mean, just think about all those teens screaming out "ADELAIDE!" it just works.

Why the f**k they have a pit is beyond me. I mean, seriously, it's Anberlin.

It wasn't a hardcore pit. It was just kids running at each other. It's fun to do when your listening to rocky music like that. More fun than just jumping up and down on the spot.

And, no, it didn't work at all Stan.

Meh, if I wanted to run and bump into someone, I'd call a few friends over. Much cheaper.

I go to concerts for the experience. The feeling of the music pumping through you and you just need to release that energy. I don't go to watch a band stand there and play for half an hour.

What if its a Jazz Quartet?

Fair call Tom. But I still think that if Anberlin get a pit, then pretty much everyone does (except a jazz quartet).

BTW, there was definitely less moshing at their concert on Tuesday night. A slightly different crowd & definitely a better setlist than at Soundwave given the extra time.
