Nice review, it's a pretty solid read and retained my interest throughout. heh, as Spat said we could probably do with a few more people in the thread on the forums though.

I gave the album itself a 5. I don't generally beleive in giving 5's, (not many albums are perfect) but this album comes as close I think it's ever gonna get with me.This Message Edited On 03.10.06

True.
One of the best rock albums ever. Is there anybody at all in the world who doesn't like Sweet Child O' Mine? Maybe under a rock somewhere.
And Nightrain...awwww yeah.

Heh, I guess we can agree on something. Out Ta Get Me...now THAT'S what a hard rock song should be.
Goddammit, the whole album just rules.

This album is legendary. Axl is a bit of a nob though, i wonder what the new material is like.

I only got a hold of "Better" before the stuff was removed...I like what I hear though.

Madagascar is suprisingly cool. Very very different to the old stuff though.
Imagine a mix of Queen's The Show Must Go On and the Rocky theme, and then add some samples, a drum machine, and plenty of widdly wah-ed up guitar.
It's by no means what we'd call Guns N' Roses, but I really like it.

That sounds like a very unusual blend - I take It wouldn't fit the hard rock genre at all then?

Yeah, I wouldn't really call it hard rock anymore. There's another new one, called The Blues, that's more of a straight up rock song, but still...I get the feeling the new stuff will be pretty eclectic.
Which is pretty cool. Before hearing Madagascar, I didn't really give a rat's ass about new GnR material, but now I can't wait.
