Yeezus is Kanye as a producer. College Dropout and Late Registration is Kanye as an MC and I'd rather listen to a rapper spit bars over old fashioned self-produced chopped and screwed beats than a rapper overproduce beats to compensate over shit lyrics and lazy flows with uncomplicated rhyme schemes
Not to mention Saul Williams did what Yeezus did for 3 straight albums and even more

i get that but kanye has always been an industry leading producer and an average mc so ill take him at his best producing
i like the old kanye, but i dont miss the old kanye, his peak starts with graduation and reaches a climax with yeezus

"Yeezus is Kanye as a producer"
Yeezus producer credits: 26 exclusding West
College Dropout/Late Reg producer credits: 2/4 excluding kanye, with the former producers only appearing on 2 total tracks
Kanye post Dark Fantasy is a director, he gets massive assembles of artists and directs them to produce music in his image. His hand in production is quite smaller than what it used to be, but I wouldn't call that a bad thing because its very clear his vision is the dominant factor of his work and it stays strong through most of his music consistently.

using the talents of other producers, working with them and ultimately having the final say in all things = the producer

None of the reasons people have stated are why I dislike Yeezus

Of course, it makes him the executive producer, which to me in music terms that is "director" like a movie. As for actual self production, those belong to his first three albums and whichever albums and tracks he made during his early and middle career.

This album has a bunch of tracks I don't care for too much, but the highs on this are some of my favorite songs of all time.
