it's funny because you equate good hip-hop to having some sort of bullshit 'deep' message...completely discounting rhythm and rhyme.

it's also funny because you're probably white yourself calling other people stupid white people.

id much rather listen to hip hop about murder and drugs than some bullshit high and mighty good message

there is good conscious hip-hop (hell, street struck could probably pass as conscious) but mostly its preachy and bad

forget the story or how deep/original the lyrics are (I can't stress enough how silly I think it is to put such paramount importance on this) this is a masterpiece in rhyming and rhythm. and for what it's worth I find some of the punchlines and one liners on this hilarious and wholly original.

but it's funny because your favorite example of the 2deep4u conscious hip hop is immortal technique who is the poster boy for preachy, pretentious, self absorbed rap. if he had a flow like L it wouldn't matter, but he doesn't...it's pretty weak in fact. whatever IT does, Mos Def for example and countless other MC's did far better and more tastefully without sacrificing the hip hop to get their points across.
