One of the very few 'Greatest Hits' albums that is really great.

This is a lot better than any other reggae I've heard, granted I haven't heard much but still.

Same here, but you should bump a little bit higher though. This is pretty much the only roots/reggae music I have in my player.

Exodus, Catch A Fire, and Kaya are all better albums than this compilation and require attention as well.

Can't say better but deserve equal or more attention. Add Burnin' and Survival to the mix too.

Bob Marley (and maybe the Beatles) is the only artist to effortlessly bridge all kinds of generational and racial divides. Ain't nobody in the world who dislikes Bob Marley. Fact.

Its odd how this Best Of is more praised than his actually studio albums. Actually rather sad.

Indeed but if this album makes people go through his discog I'm fine with that.

its not that odd or sad, his studio albums are inconsistent and kinda monotonous whereas this is pure gold start to finish

I had to listen to this everyday in art class for a year because it was the only album the class would ever agree on, unfortunately I've heard it so many times that in my mind it just defines bland and empty generally appealing greatest hits turds for casual music listeners that don't know any albums or artists. a few hundred unwanted listens killed it for me. I used to love the album as a young teen but I hope I never hear No Woman No Cry again, it drives me up a wall at this point. Funky Kingston>>
