Walk On is the best opener though, it's got so much swagger.

the title track and see the sky about to rain are my favourites off that, so hazy

I believe in you

The lyrics in After the Gold Rush are so good. Wish he'd written more as good as those.
I like the style and atmosphere of this album a lot more than that of On the Beach.

His first album deserves some attention to, it has cracking songs:
The Loner, Here We are in the Years, What did you do to my life, I've loved her so long etc. (I've been waiting for you)
ATGR is more stripped down, which I find immesely enjoyable, but his debut is very charming too.
|
| |
each to their own of course, the two albums are so different it's more a personal preference than a quality thing
|
| |
Yeah. I like the more stripped back sound of this album. Some songs on On the Beach like Vampire Blues just do nothing for
me. I enjoy every song on this album (even though the title track is on another level to everything else).

Tell me whyyyyyyyy
This is for sure my favourite Neil Young album

I'm with you JT but I think there's songs on this that are better than the t/t.
Southern Man
Don't Let it Bring You Down.
And to quote my man E: 'I Like Birds'

I respect your opinion of course but I can't fathom how anyone could claim any other song on here to be as good or better than the title track. It's just in an entirely different league for me, which is a shame really.

The others will open up dude.
|
| |
I mean I still love the other songs but damn I've never known an artist to have one song that stands out so very much from the rest.
|
| |
It's funny because, for me, "Tell Me Why" is leagues ahead of everything else
|
| |
Interesting.

Every single song on here is a 5 to me. Can't, won't even rank them.
This album just grabs me, and never lets me down.
