This album is just so damn infectious. But it's odd, because it has two lyrical halves - a serious, depressing first half and then without warning it becomes upbeat and just plain fun.

And, tch, fromtheinside - Don't Tell Dave is the second best track here (after Carl Barker)

I'm giving this another go. It's not as awful as I initially thought, but still nowhere near as good as "Downtown Battle Mountain" though IMO

Hey I liked don't tell dave! It was entertaining.. It sounds like he says "Did you bring the friends" which just made me lol the first time I heard it...

the beggining of nasa reminds me of the fall of troy. anyways, the only bad song off this is strawberry swisher pt 1, but pt 2 makes up for it.

'Stawberry Swisher pt.1' is the song im ashamed to listen to, but i like it all the same.

At least in accordance to it really "fitting" into the "conceptual boundaries" of their sound.

It's got that eerie melodic quality that still gives it some weight next to the other songs on here.

I love pt. 1, it's silly but it makes up for it with groove and catchiness. pt 2 I don't like so much and is probably my least favourite on the album.

But the two halves still fuck with the whole package, particularly since Powder To The People fits into neither.

Powder is awesome.

Don't you go dissin' that.

But I guess Strawberry lets them show off their more funk-influenced side.

I kind of like Powder (the lyrics are a MAJOR let down though) it just doesn't belong to either camp, which is even weirder than the fact that there are two camps.

i love the end of powder, its sort of like a ridiculous send off to the album with their skill shining through.

I finally concurred that Strawberry Swishers might be about a dude who got a chick pregnant, but then is trying to convince her it's someone else.

Though I'll have to actually LOOK at the lyrics to validate that.

Which I won't.

I always used to read the lyrics along to album, I've only recently started not always doing that (but I still like to sometimes).

The bass on this album is superb. I hope the new guy is of the same calibre. Classic album
