First track is more than okay actually, second is grating and then it levels out. Probably underrating this, but I still don’t really like it on the whole.

Most of it is super great, hence the Superb from me. Totally love this, makes me want to ooogaabboooo-ballooooooo around the house with as little as possible clothes on and dance around vividly!

All about the slow, crunchy, ever moving waves of sepia-ish caleidoscope-ish colourful static noise of Race You To The Bedroom - Spirit Rise for me.
A warm blanket that is slightly itchy, like a woollen one.

Wow Trif that’s an odd image (given that you’re essentially a flower to me, although this may be for the best idk 😄).
Interesting perspective. I could see ‘comforting’ if you succeed in succumbing to the atmospheric fuzzy and shifting shroud hovering over you. Personally it wasn’t in any way invigorating in a ‘let’s dance around the house‘ type way. I find that hard to understand.

Yeah I can totally see that too! It essentially are huge slabs of static, this. They do create these feelings in me though, so I thought I'd share them to offer some perspective to all the lurkers who haven't heard this yet!
Have you heard Tarot Sport, Demon? That one is totally different yet weirdly similar, it is better than this I think, and it might appeal to you a lot more. If not: check Surf Solar!

I haven’t heard it no. Bought this on a whim many moons ago, probably because of the bandname/artwork. Couldn’t get into it so didn’t explore any further.
I’d forgotten all about it until the bump, so revisited out of curiosity. I might check.

Tarot Sport >>> this but both are hard growers

Yeah the follow up is quite different from this, parts of it were even used for the UK Olympics opening ceremony haha! But it's still very much noise and enormous and (sorry Beaucoup Fish review) probably one of the most monolithic records that I know.
|
| |
True!! Monolithic is definitely the word for it. "Olympians" and "Surf Solar" are suberb. Blanck mass will always get more love from me tho, more groove and less noise.

Hmm, yes, World Eater was on par with FBs first two. But I like the Buttons' work more still. Andrew Hung's solo stuff was a bit of a let down for me, did you check it?
|
| |
I have not. Blanck Mass' new one was also a huge letdown for me. For now I think i''ll stick to this, tarot sport, world eater & dumb flesh.

Yes same, the one with the apple! I did not particularly care for that one either. But World Eater was phenomenal and one of my faves of its year. I should revisit Dumb Flesh, didn't spend much time with it at all.

I meant literally the one that dropped like two weeks ago, called In Ferneax. Incredibly boring. The apple one was hit-or-miss for me.

Oh wow! I did not even know there was a new one! But your disappointment with it does not bode well, hmmm. Will check anyway! And then revisit Flesh.

Yes please do, I would like to know your thoughts on it

Also I've only noticed just now:
What the hell is The Field doing in the similar artists section of Fuck Buttons?! I removed it, this was w ei r dd d d!
|
| |
I've actually been getting into the Field recently, I think it's because both artists use a format of long songs that rely on a rhythm without much variation.

Hmmm, yes, I think so too, but that's about it as far as similarities go. Happy you're getting into his work, such a lovely artist! Which ones have you checked? Have you already experienced the perfection that is Leave It (From Yesterday And Today)?
