Trey, I have Shotgun Messiah on my LIST to listen to. I just haven't got around to it as yet as I've been exclusively listening to bands that are playing at an upcoming festival I'm attending.
Jim; Fair point on the sugary stuff that is included on this album. It doesn't bother me a great deal as it is sometimes a little too full on to listen to 100% political/social commentaries. I sometimes need a break from that.
Oh & have I ever mentioned that 'Cult of Personality' absolutely RAWKS!!!
And yes Ross, you win a prize; The opportunity to write a review on the fantastic website known as SputnikMusic.

Would that be yet another jab at me taking my time over my reviews there Davey?

Never!
Of course, I am obliged to tell you that if you do not write a review in each calendar month, you will automatically be kicked off Sputnik. You have 4 days! ;-)

I thought my Last Shadow Puppets one was this month, but after checking I found out it wasn't, darn...
OK Davey, how's tomorrow for you?? I reckon I have the time to finish one of my reviews by then.

Where the hell did that question come from Jim?
And Croc, you failed badly with any of those answers. Although maybe you would have given the correct answer had been fortunate enough to have a funky bassline accompany the question.
|
| |
Haha I was playing (badly) bass earlier today and yes, it would of helped me answer!

You're no Muzz Skilings, Croc. That dude could play. I really think losing him hurt Living Colour.

Nicely written.

Recently discovered this jewel. Quality metal mixed with quality funk? Couldn't have asked for more.

The vocalist is perfect for this type of music, listening to it now Davey!

Nice to see looking back on this that my whole sporadic reviewing thing isn't just a recent occurance, it's been going on all year.; some things don't change eh?

Also "Funny Vibe" gives me this odd Faith No More feeling, I've been saying that too much often, but seriously it does.
Its not a 5 in my book, sorry Davey. Its a fun funktastic listen though, even if its highly political at some points of the album; that really doesn't bother me at all unless you make it destroy your sound like Pearl Jam did in Riot Act.
Why isn't The Chair In The Doorway submitted in their discography, it came out a few days ago. I think I may review it.

OY... Step aside Marko. I am the Living Colour expert around here! My review of 'The Chair in the Doorway' is practically done. Just putting the finishing touches on it. I totally forgot it was coming out mid-September & am ashamed of myself for that. If you have heard it, please back up my opinion that 'Bless Those' is a song of the year contender.....
Anyway, getting back to 'Vivid', I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I didn't think you'd rate it a 5, but am more than happy with your 4 (as opposed to Ross' 3.5). As for the Faith No More comparisons, that is one of the very few bands that LC have been compared to over their career.
