Now this is how you write a negative review for an album loved by almost everyone without being neg'd into oblivion. This Message Edited On 01.03.09

"I really did not want to dislike this album. I forced it upon myself time and time again but to no avail. "
Dude it happens to all of us. I picked up OK Computer cheap and after many listens, I just cannot bring myself to enjoy it. sure I can see it's fancy, but do I enjoy listening to it? Nup.

This review was a sad attempt to rebel against the countless praise this album has been getting. the count endedNo soul or emotion? That is a terrible excuse for a bad rating. The emotion is in the technicality and beautiful sounding music stop trying to look for all of this 'deeper meaning' nonsense and using that to justify it. the emotion is the the technicality are you listening to yourself? honestly there's nothing beautiful to be found here in my opinion. spacey sounding, sure. cynic is almost as overrated as radiohead

Userword: Yeah sure maybe you are right, maybe I did only write the review because I was sick of the constant praise that this album was getting. But what I said in the review I agree with 100 percent and will back up accordingly.
A piece of music showing no soul or emotion is a perfectly rational justification to not like this album. From where I stand, the vocoded vocals disrupt everything good on the album and whilst I admire the musicianship I do not find the music to be very good. Saying the emotion is in the technicality is an invalid statement on your behalf; technicality is no basis to gauge human feelings upon, and I think you will find that most people agree with me when I say there is far more to music than being a technically good musician.
As for the end being wishy washy, yeah I guess it is and its about time I did go 'one way or the other' as you put it, I've given this album enough chance and I remain at the 2.5 rating I gave it in this review.

I agree that the emotion lies within the technicality. The calm precision provides overwhelming stability in song structure, which allows the band to insert all kinds of subtle tuning and small change-ups that force my ears in all different directions, stirring my emotions, and yet no song ever loses its flow or its poise.
I think he meant that the album is good but people like you over rate it.
This is exactly why I knew I had to write a review for this, and make it good. I firmly stand by my 5 for this, that's what it means to me, through and through. It unfortuneately doesn't mean anything of the sort to Freek and he expressed why just as well if not better than I did. So gtfo and such, review is excellent.

dude I didn't diss your review, it was excellent and so is this review but the album has grown off significantly for me and I don't find it that special anymore, sorry. you have a right to your opinion and so do I and currently I think this album is a bit overrated but I still have it as a 4 so I don't see any reason for you to get that worked up.

Jingle, nah man, I was speaking generally. As in I can rep my 5 and spew my love for this album all I want but it wouldn't be all the different from the dude who negged this review. I wrote my review to back up my claims with more legitimacy. I wasn't sayin nothin to you
That was my bad, I guess I didn't make it clear. The gtfo was for the negger. This Message Edited On 01.31.09

I agree that the emotion lies within the technicality.
Ehh I sort of see where your coming fromin your post and I guess I didn't look at things that way. Still I respectfully disagree.
btw Just read your review and its flipping marvelous,I think you did a great job as it's a lot harder to write a good 5/5 review that doesn't sound fanboyish.
Edit: Apparently I has already read and pos'd your review and just forgot about it. This Message Edited On 01.31.09

Thanks man. It's at least marginally fanboyish but that's unavoidable considering how much I love this. This Message Edited On 01.31.09
