This barely sounds like Opeth

There is a HUGE Opeth influence here so saying they barely sound like opeth is stupid. But calling them Opeth immitators is also stupid because they do still manage to do their own thing

I never would have guessed this would have taken off as well as it did. The legacy of the broken record.

Just listened to the first song, Closure and it sounds really good, catchy + good mix of clean and death vocals.

Er, is this band considered progressive metal?

Agreed, I recently got The Forlorn and it really underwhelming considering the quality of this.

This is fucking awesome. I haven't heard anything from this band other than this, but this made me want to check their other album. This is some of the best progressive death metal that I've heard and its only an ep. I couldn't even imagine how good it would be if it was a full length.

Dude, search the blogs and get their "The Lands Of The Plague" demo. It's black metal with their stellar musicianship still in tact.

I'll look that up tomorrow. I've read all the comments about this band, but never really wanted to look into them until today. They're like a mix between Opeth and Enslaved.

Truthfully, I don't see a distinct Opeth influence since Opeth seems heavily influenced by old progressive acts and sort of sounds more like that at times. This has more of an epic sound, and genre wise...they explore a lot that Opeth doesn't. More Black Metal undertones...incredible atmosphere.

Anyway, I'm downloading this right now and it's taking forever for some reason, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait!
