waking the fallen is a really good cd and alot of my friends think so also. my 2 favorite songs on the album are chapter 4 and second heartbeat. synyster gates' solo in the song second heartbeat is really wicked!;)

This is the worst piece of shit I've ever heard in my life. I can't even believe you said this was the best album you've ever listened to. When I read this, a tear dropped from my eye onto my original pressing of Zeppelin IV, and for that my friend, I curse you for the rest of time.

Yeah, that's basically what I said, but it ended up in here instead of the new one.

No offense or anything, but that was a pretty bad review. You went into virtually no detail, and most of the songs you just said: "r0ck. hard." For the future, spend more time on your reviews.

^ Hah...good stuff.

This album is pretty solid in my opinion. I like it more than STST. I found this album to be more of a "quick fix" tho, in the fact that what I heard right away was what was there. STST grew on me a lot more. Regardless, tight band. And yes...i love City of Evil (The musicianship is just too good on that album to let the singing ruin it).

As for the review, I think some more detail would have been nice. Not horrible tho...says the guy who is yet to review an album. Hah.This Message Edited On 10.07.05

Waking the Fallen is excellent. City of Evil ruined by singing? Sorry that is NOT singing on City Of Evil. That's a pain on the ears, however the guitar work was amazing. Simply amazing. Listen to this album (waking the fallen), I didn't see how the band would turn towards the new style(City Of Evil). They need a new singer. He can't scream anymore. His new clear voice is painful. Their new guitar work is amazing.

I say singing for lack of a better term, hah. But yes, A new singer would benefit them largely...or maybe he should just sing like he did on WTF, because I found his vox on that to be just fine. Maybe thats not possible anymore, what with surgery.

I guess I think he tried to do too much with the vox, because any average vocalist would have gotten lost in the mix of the blizzard of awesomeness that the music was. But maybe an average vocalist would be better than listening to the screeching....

RELEASE A FUCKING INSTRUMENTAL NEXT TIME!!! Thats my conclusion.

I can sing the lyrics better than shadows on City Of Evil. I'm by no means a great singer but not bad. He oversang everything, trying to make up for the fact he can't scream. The parts where he kept within his vocal range, it was fine.

Not a metalcore fan, but I did like the song Unholy Confessions.

The vocals are horrible on this album in my opinion. I hate how they strive so hard to appeal to the poser kids. The review was far too brief.

I don't mind the screaming but the singing sucks.

The singing isn't that bad. "City Of Evil" annoyed me slightly. Shadows cannot scream any more and compensates with the more whiney vocals. However, the guitarists are incredible on all 3 albums and despite the fact the bass is often drowned out, he knows what he is doing. The Rev is a great drummer. And this album owns in the metalcore genre.

I think the drummer sucks. He seems off time on some of the songs, and some of his fills are incredibly lame.

This album doesn't "own" at all. It's all lame.
