this album is seriously awesome. searing layered shoegaze guitars, catchy headfuck vocals, what's not to love?

while I hate to use Pitchfork as counter arguement for anything or to agree with their ratings.....
http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/12320-the-chemistry-of-common-life/
They gave the album a rating of 8.8 and I feel the review is a better indication of the album. If it is album is not to your liking then fine... personally I feel your review is overly harsh and critical without merit.

Album Rating: 3.5
album is good but i prefer their early stuff. this one's overly ambitious and pretentious at some points
|
| |
eh it just seems like sometimes they forget where they were going and lose themselves. 'black albino bones' is both the best song on this record and also the best example of that

I don't think they're trying to be the shape of punk to come. They're just trying some new things, and it's working rather nicely.
