You cant beat a bit of Requiem in the morning...if only he had better vocals

When All Light Dies (or whatever it's called) is their best song in my opinion. I'll probably get this off of Itunes, I've always liked Trivium and even the Crusade to an extent, listened to the title track yesterday.

My favorite Trivium song is probably Departure...I haven't heard anything pre ascendancy however.
My favorite here is Torn Between however the fuck you spell it

demo - the storm
eti - falling to grey/to burn the eye
ascendancy - pull harder/light to flies/deceived
the crusade - broken one, if anything
this - torn between/shogun
those are my faves, but every once n a while the ember to inferno stuff and the ascendancy stuff will change

I can't help but noticing how incredibly biased (both ways) the rating distribution for this is. And yea the average for this should be much higher than .6 above The Crusade, but then again, The Crusade doesn't even deserve its 2.6 average...
Edit: nvm actually, it really isn't that biased, just doesn't have too many votes yet so the graph hasn't settled out yet. laturzzThis Message Edited On 09.29.08

I think the crusade deserves its 2.6 rating. My rating for it is somewhat between a 2.5 and a 3 anyway. If I had my way this would have like a 3.6/3.7 rating and Ascendancy would be a solid 4.

Shogun is now my favorite song of the year now. I don't think I've banged my head more during one song than I did the last four minutes of this song.

Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven and Throes of Perdition are my favourites off this so far, the title track has grown on me alot though. I thought the use of seven string guitars has deffinately benefitted the band in progressing there sound and the intro to Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis is probably the best intro to any Trivium song. Better than the Crusade, not as good as Ascendancy but they're deffinitely going in the right direction. I rekon the next album they should put fewer tracks on the album nd build even more on the progressive aspects of the songs. Shogun and The Crusade are both songs that show they can pull off longer more progressive songs. Lets hope they don't do a Metallica nd go for a more radio firendly sound on there fifth album.

Got to say I am a little disappointed with this at present.
I like Trivium - I even thought that The Crusade was a great album - I have to admit wanting to like it helps, but after forcing myself to listen to it I found it very enjoyable.
Shogun however doesn't seem to do it for me and I am not sure why - my current theroy is simple Death Magnetic is so much better - thus I will rate this anoher day.
I do hope, however, that given time I will like this as much as the others.... This Message Edited On 09.30.08

I respectfully respect your opinion, but I and everyone else disagrees. Even people who wouldn't touch Trivium with a 10-mile pole can confidently say this is leagues better than The Crusade. Iz cool though, I'm not gonna go bash crazy on ya.
but to better understand your opinion, did you hate Ascendancy? If ur into just pure thrash that would explain any doubts about the quality of this album.

This album reminds me of "A new day has come" by Celine Dion
