I agree with your opinion. This sounds like a step backwards in recording quality as well.

Emmure are so boring live by the way, their songs sound like a constant beatdown, thus displaying no musical talent in songwriting or performance and they should all go to the gym because they are all fat.

I didn't enjoy it as much as Goodbye to the Gallows, but I did enjoy it. I didn't like how sterile it sound as opposed to the slightly rougher qualities of the last album.

Exactly 541core, the album sounds very empty, at least Goodby To The Gallows sounded full and properly mixed and mastered.

I've come to the conclusion that I can't stand this band.

I liked a lot of elements of this album. at least they didn't put the same album out twice. The only real complaint other than the sterility I mentioned earlier is the amount of thug on the album. Needs a little toning down.

Band is so awful. This band is basically just a bad version of the acacia strain.

There are some major differences between them and The Acacia Strain though. Primarily with their old stuff. Their new stuff is all really heavy slowed down breakdowns, pretty similar to TAS.

this record made me hate the tri-note breakdown... eff me

Some people do it really well. Check out Oceano's old stuff. Gay name but a buff band.

I listened to False Love In Real Life since you said it was one the better songs & it was a sort of fun listen, but about 75% of the song was a breakdown XD

I actually like this album, believe it or not. Some of the songs are bad, as well as lyrics, but there are some really good songs. If I had to pick one I would say Chicago's Finest

I will just leave you with perhaps one of the most fowl lyrics I've heard in quite some time, from the song Tales From The Burg.
"It must of been his brand new hand pentagram
Or the fact that he f*cks Iron city girls , no condom on the rag.
Just so you know the next time your sucking his d*ck.Your tasting the blood of a pirates fan.
Tell me how much lower can you go in life. You f*cking b*tch."
Yeah...its that bad...(this was copied and pasted from the band's MySpace, and I'm not even going to make a joke about the grammatical errors, you may do this yourselves)
So what do you get when you combine an abhorrent amount of breakdowns, mediocre musicianship and songwriting, and decent vocals paired with pretty awful lyrics?
One question. Are you a fucking pussy? Oh man fowl language, cry me a fucking river man. These lyrics obviously tell a story about his life, and shows how he was feeling. That's what music is all about. You don't know shit, you just a critic.

To put it simply, the money spent on this album will only go to support a band that clearly has no appreciation for the actual art of producing music...
