Only my 3rd favorite, but with an artist like PJ, that's saying a lot :P

Is like every song on this at least a 7/10? Damn consistent album. I like variety on show, especially the electronic elements.

I'm probably going to save my 1000th rating for this in a really sad & pointless attempt at making it meaningful somehow. I can't remember finding something this amazing in quite a long time.

I'm very on/off with the rest of her work, but this is such a masterpiece

I'm the same (so far) having heard a few of her records now, this one is by far my favourite. Hoping the others grow on me.

White Chalk is probably my second fave after this, and I don't think it's a coincidence that it's the closest in mood

Let England Shake, This, and To Bring You My Love are all interchangeable depending on my mood. The rest are fabulous as well, but they'll have a song or two that might be a bit irritable for my tastes.

I'm going to need the full discog check for this lass I reckon, intrigued by White Chalk now if it's similar in mood.

White Chalk is a fair bit different in mood I think. More piano driven than guitar/electronic driven, and more "sad" than "angry". If "Is This Desire?" is a 90s rock chick tearing up old love letters, "White Chalk" is a depressed, pill popping, housewife in suburbia.

I'll probably just start at the beginning now, she more than has my attention & it'll be interesting to see her development as an artist. Not sure I dig all of the rockier tracks that I've heard thus far but it appears to be a worthwhile endeavour nonetheless.

Oh absolutely. As far as consistency as an artist, PJ is one of the best of the best over the decades.
