^^Not to take away from Kollias because he is an extremly talented drummer, one of the best in the world, Hellhammer does almost 3

Yeah, but Hellhammer doesn't count, because... um... well, he's Hellhammer.

Kollias bores the living hell out of me. He's not one of the best drummers in the world. He's just fast as shit and that's it.

Agreed^^. Hellhammer has the edge IMO.

I love the fact that you can hear the bass through out the songs, it makes it sound so intense.
|

I wasn't aware they had a bass player for this album.

Of course there's a bass, why wouldn't there be?
|
| |
Because as of now, Nile has no bass, and in The video for Sacrifice Unto Sabek, there is no bass player.

They have no bass player now, but this was recorded like three years ago. It's pretty much impossible to play death metal without a bassist. And their guitarist plays bass on their new album, so naturally they'll just find a session player for the road.

This album is badass. Lashed to the Slave Stick is brutal.

I've been addicated to his album for the past 2 days. It's amazing and I believe it to be one of Nile's best pieces of work to date. The lyrics are amazing as usual and are just an amazing history lesson!

I heard Ithyphallic and it's not as good as this.

I wouldn't call the lyrics amazing. They're actually really meat-fisted and un-poetic. Yeah they're historicly accurate and such but lyrics need to poetic to be good.

The song names are incredibly stupid.

I have a terrible love hate relationship with this album.
I love the music, but I hate the production so much to the point where I loaded up Nuendo 3, ran it through 4 instances of EQ plugin and a multiband compressor to get it to the point where I could TRULY appreciate it.
It's a brutal album, but the production just defeats the point of their technicality. You'd think with all the tech, they want you to hear what they're playing.
And to think, on Last.Fm I've seen comments where people think Ithyphallic is slickly produced.
Ew.
