good review. i wouldnt call it emo though. punk has lost all its fun though for the most part. green day totally changed.
shenanigans did shitty so they apperently thought that changing who they r would make them sell better. in my mind they have totallly sold out (hiring another guitarist who gets no credit, billy joe barely playing guitar in concert, all serious lyrics, legendary "rock opera" publicity stunt) its all total crap. green day used to b one of my favorite bands but i cant even stand to hear them anymore. and the whole black suit eyeliner crap is not green day at all. MCR can do it becuz thats who they r. they didnt go from funny pop punk to slightly goth emo thats just who they r. green day how ever did make that change. they just sold out to what was going to be in just in time to sell records. dont support them

this is an above average album, but it is seriously not what you expect it should be. its most definately not emo, but the punk has gone straight to H.E. Double Hockeysticks. its more of a 'Pop Rock, Mainstream Rock' connection. Its a good album, just seems too much like something other than the true 'Green Day'

green day doesnt really fit into any genre anymore. theyre just basically rock. or mainstream rock if you wanna get specific. this is cuz a few singles off this have no punk in it and is just plain rock (boulevard of broken dreams, WMUWSE)

hey chillbee you can shove some shit in your face because the only spelling errors in all those quotes were intentional like cuz....o and i wasnt even talking to you about Wake Me Up When September Ends i was talking to someone who said it was a political song...and how is it thier fault who their fan base is its not like they go to best buy and wait for people to buy thier album and see someone they dont want having it or liking it and just takin it away from them they cant choose their fans so why dont you just shut up unless you have something original to say
^I'd expect a comment like that from a Green Day hater.
are you kidding? One thing is someone calling them Punk but they're nowhere near 'alternative'. How you came with that genre for them, I have no clue

I have a question, who is this unknown guitarist that doesn't even get credit for anything, not the videos, not the concerts, not the album(as far as I know). They didn't even introduce him into a band. I mean, all of a sudden I saw him in concert one time, I was like who is this. Then I saw more and more until I saw him on wake me up till sept ends. I just wondered if anyone knows who is , and what's it all about

This is not alternative rock. Sonic Youth and The Chilis are alternative.

Great, so the arguing about Green Day being punk has stopped, but now it's about them being alternative.

How many articles have Green Day have written about them in Alternative Press?

o and to answer your question Rusty Knives, their new guitarist is named Jason White and the reason he isnt mentioned in the album is because he didnt do anything for the album he is a member of another band that Billie Joe is in called Pinhead Gunpowder so he thought it might be good for him to get some publicity and it lets him rev up the crowd and whatnot....The guy on the piano is Jason Freeze and i dont know any of the other new concert people

I missed the arguement about Wake me up..., but it's not a political song. I read in an interview somewhere, me thinks GuitarWorld, with Billie Joe that it is a tribute song to Johnny Ramone. You know since he died in the month of September.
